But I don't have an addiction?
One of the misconceptions about Celebrate Recovery is that "it is only for alcoholics and addicts". People with a history of chemical dependency are welcome and do attend, but Celebrate Recovery is for everyone. Do you have an issue that has plagued you for years but you have never known how to deal with it. Then we have a place for you. Our group is for people who struggle with family issues, anger, resentment, abuse issues and a host of other difficult topics that people may struggle to talk about in a small group setting.
- 38% of girls are sexually abused before the age of 18.
- 16% of boys are sexually abused before the age of 18.
- It is estimated that 40% of American women will experience a sexual assault during their lifetime. For every abuse case reported, there are 3-10 that go unreported.
On any given Sunday we may have 30 or more women who may have experienced some type of abuse but have never been able to talk about or deal with this issue. Celebrate recovery is a great place to confront this issue and find the kind of support and help you need.
The theme of our Celebrate Recovery ministry is "Mosaic." This comes from the word picture of a person with broken pieces of his life finding the courage to allow God to put these pieces back together in the form of a beautiful mosaic. We would like to meet each Tuesday night and share the glue of God's word and authentic relationships that are based on trust and acceptance so that people can gradually put the pieces of their lives and relationships back together.
If you or someone you know is struggling with an addiction, a difficult relationship or any behavior that is causing pain and destruction in your life, come join us and find the glue that you need!
Below is what we would like to have as our schedule each Tuesday night:
-
6:30-7:30 Large Group Gathering (Praise and Worship & teaching time)
