Door to the Future
The Door to the Future capital fundraising campaign was introduced on Sunday, May 17, 2009.  Pledges have been made, and can still be made.  Our pledge goal is $8500.  To date, we have received approximately $6000 in pledges.  If you have not made a pledge and would like to, pledge cards can still be picked up at the church.  If you have already made a pledge, please remember to turn those in to the offering bags each month.

During both services on Sunday, September 13 we gave an update of where we are with this campaign and where we are going.  We have received the green light to move forward with the purchase of the new building.  Over the next few weeks, we will be providing updates on the progress.

We want to answer as many questions about this campaign as possible, so we have listed a few questions below.

Q. Is this money in place of my regular tithes and offerings?
A. This money is a faith amount above your regular tithes and offerings.  We still have a budget to operate under, and we need the regular tithes and offerings to continue.

Q. What if I cannot continue my pledge?
A. We realize in some circumstances a pledge might have to change. This is simply a pledge, so it can be changed if needed.

Q.   What if we receive more pledges than the cost of the monthly payment on the new building?
A. Since this is Phase II, any extra monies will be applied either to the debt of the building and/or to Phase III, which is the account we are setting up to prepare to buy land at a future date.

Q. Where should I bring my gift?
A. Please use Door to the Future envelopes and give during regular giving times at NorthStar.

Q. When should I start giving?
A. You may begin giving now.

Q. Who will monitor these monies?
A. Our trustees will oversee the reception of funds.

Q. How long is this campaign?
A. The capital fundraising campaign is for three years.

Q. Is this a common way to raise funds for a building program?
A. Almost every church has a building campaign to raise capital for a building program.

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Ephesians 3:20

Then the whole Israelite community withdrew from Moses' presence,  and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved him came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the Tent of Meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments.  All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds: brooches, earrings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the LORD.
Exodus 35:20-22
